The Peugeot 208 GTi will be put into production according to sources at Pistonheads. The iconic designs revealed earlier this year have proven such a hit that the French car manufacturer will bring it to the masses.

History has shown that Peugeot compete very well in the Hot Hatch market and the GTi has always been a symbol of performance and everyday versatility.

It is reported that two different versions of the car will be offered: a "standard" 155bhp edition and a powerful 204bhp version.

Sadly no reports have come in that the equally beautiful Peugeot XY will also go into production so we will all have to keep wishing for it to come a reality. We won't have long to wait to see the finished article though, as it is to debut in the upcoming Paris Motor Show in September; ready to be put into production for 2013.

The Peugeot 208 has proved to be a very popular small car with a modern design and full of technology. This whets our appetite for just how good the Peugeot 208 GTi will actually be.
