Fifth Gear focused on the handling of the Peugeot 5008 and mention how the direction of Peugeot's latest MPV is about "greater driver enjoyment". The 5008 succeeds with "decent amount of grip and little understear". Considering that this family vehicle was likely taken around a track at great speeds to test the steering, this kind of result is an impressive one. Environmentally the 5008 is slightly smaller than most MPV's, but "the best-in-class CO2 figures are nevertheless excellent"
Carbuyer sums up the 5008 by exclaiming: "Whisper it, but I reckon Peugeot has got its mojo back". Describing the 5008 as a rare "proper seven-seat MPV that joins a range which is definitely experiencing a renaissance". The agility and performance of the Peugeot 5008 along with fuel efficiency and comfort are all applauded by Carbuyer. Ultimately the 5008 is a "well-priced, well-specced and well-sized MPV".
Autotrader UK also support Carbuyer's findings, stating "The Peugeot 5008 offers everything required from an MPV and more. It's spacious, practical, well-equipped and great to drive". They also highlight the "smart styling" of this modern family car. For many people-carriers, manufacturers focus on practicality over style. The Peugeot 5008 is a beautiful fusion of both.
The Telegraph tried to establish just how spacious the Peugeot 5008 truly is when the seats are folded flat. 2,506 litres they claim, is nine (nearly ten) wheelie bins big. The 5008 has untold practicality in this category and it's "myriad boxes and cubby holes" in which to tuck away mobile phones, glasses or any other storage needs becomes extremely useful in long or short journeys. The Telegraph also highlight the ride: "it is highly aerodynamic and cruises quietly".
Parkers remind users of the five star Euro NCAP rating (the highest score achievable). With six airbags and side curtain airbags as standard along with electronic stability control, the 5008 never compromises on safety. Parkers state that the 5008 is "Good to drive" has "upmarket features, a versatile seating layout" and a "frugal low-CO2 1.6 HDi".
What Car? describes the Peugeot 5008 as "a great family car, with pretty much all the practicality and refinement you could wish for. It's stylish and good to drive, too". Awarding it their "MPV of the Year" in 2010, What Car's conclusion of the 5008 needs no further description.
Reviewing the Peugeot 5008, Jason Barlow also concurred with What Car? and last year claimed it was his "Car of the Year". He described the 5008 as a "true driver's car" and one that you feel "properly connected to". With options of hill-start assist , heads-up display, extra traction on slippery surfaces and an electronic handbrake, he exclaimed the Peugeot 5008 was nothing short of "a revelation".
