In addition to the ‘Car of the Year’ award bestowed upon the DS3 by Top Gear Magazine it is our great pleasure to highlight further praise for the hot hatch edition of the car. The Citroën DS3 Racing has given the self-appointed leader of the Top Gear brand (Jeremy Clarkson) something to think about.
Writing for the Sunday Times he notes that ‘the DS3 is about as hot as hot hatches get right now’. It is not surprising considering this car is powered by a turbocharged 205 hp 1.6 litre engine. With a top speed of 146mph and ‘a lower ride height, a wider track and firmer dampers than the basic DS3, it handles crisply too’. Along with this technology is the bold décor including a steering wheel made from Carbon Fibre and ‘epic seats that would be more at home, in an F-22 Raptor’.
This extraordinary car can stir the emotions that only true iconic vehicles can muster. Clarkson notes this in his review as he speaks of how the limited edition DS3 Racing is ‘excellent to drive, but more importantly it’s a car that makes me feel happy’.
With only a limited production run of 1000 and only 200 of these magnificent cars coming to the U.K the DS3 Racing is a must have car that unfortunately only a small audience can appreciate. Be one of the few lucky owners that (like the provocative Clarkson) ‘loved looking at it’ and ‘loved driving it’.
