The new DS5 is an exciting new development for the luxury range of Citroens. Building upon the success of the award winning Citroen DS4 and highly regarded DS3, the DS5 has a lot to live up to. However in the short time that the DS5 has been amongst the stringest of critics, it has managed to impress even further.

With stunning looks there is very little not to love about the Citroen DS5. A family hatchback that breaks all styling rules whilst maintaining practicality and comfort. With a high waistline and low roofline, this sleek looking car is a bold step towards driving technology and allows the driver to stand out from the crowd.

Charters' favourite feature of the Citroen DS5

It is hard to focus on a single feature of the DS5. Equipped with an extremely high specification, it manages to show that beauty and technology can work hand in hand. With a keyless entry (and start/stop) system, auto-dipping headlights, the now iconic flat-bottomed steering wheel, large boot space and choice of stunning interiors you'll be overwhelmed with quality. If pushed though we have to mention the incredible pilot style interior. With every switch you'd ever need close hand and the dashboard array resembling something you would find in a cockpit, the DS5 is a place you may never want to leave.

In the short time it has been available for critics to drive, the DS5 has really delivered. It has already won the Top Gear Magazine's "Family Car of the Year" in 2011. The first Citroen to be have the option of HYbrid4 technology, the DS5 is capable of 2-3 miles in silent "ZEV" mode, whilst for longer journeys the diesel engine kicks in. Choose the 200hp 99g/CO2 HYbrid4 and you will be exempt from road tax and London congestion charge and receive a combined fuel economy of 74.3mpg. The Citroen DS5 HYbrid 4 truly is a large practical family car which is incredibly cost effective to run.
