Why Charters loves the Citroen C6

From the outside, we love the elegant, distinctive lines of the stylish Citroen C6.  The car is supremely comfortable, thanks to Citroen's Hydractive 3+ suspension system.  We love the way the Xenon headlamps are automatically activated when the conditions require, and their "guide me home" function.  Then there's the way the speed sensitive rear spoiler optimises stability at higher speeds, and how the concave rear window extends to the rear lights giving great visibility - and it is self-cleaning. Inside, the heads up display on the V6 engine models projects key information such as speed, fuel and navigation data onto the windscreen.  And, there's a superb hifi sound system, with eight loudspeakers and two woofers, with a special amplifier.

We have to mention the fact that the C6 was awarded a maximum five stars in Euro NCAP crash tests for occupant protection and four for pedestrian safety - a first for any car.  This is the result of the C6's active bonnet system on the V6 enginemodels which instantly raises in the event of impact, enabling it to absorb more energy and protect peestrians. 

With its eight airbags, active head restraints, a high performance braking system with ABS (and emergency brakefoce distribution and emergency braking assistance), electronic stability control and an automatic tyre pressure monitor as standard, and options including a lane departure warning system, safety is clearly a priority in the C6.

The Sunday Times review says: "This is a gloriously pretty machine, straight from the Citroën textbook of space-age models dating back to the fabulous DS...  The long, low nose leading to the famous chevron badge, the long flanks that lead to a curious curved rear windscreen. Inside, the car is a wonderful mix of leather, wood and metal as well as being comfortable - front and back - light and welcoming. It is absolutely sumptuous."

Caring for the environment

The Citroen C6 2.2HDi 16V automatic achieves 37.2 mpg and CO2 emissions of 199 g/km.  Like all Citroens, the C6 is designed to be at least 85% recyclable.  

Charters' customer choice 

There is a choice of two diesel engines for the Citroen C6 - a 2.2 HDI 16v 173hp or 2.7 HDi V6 delivering 208hp - both with a six speed automatic gearbox.  The C6 specification level is truly impressive, but the choice of the Exclusive version provides additional luxurious features.
