Citroen is a leader in producing clean vehicles - thanks to its popular 1.0 litre and 1.4 litre petrol engines, and ultra-efficient diesel engine range.

The Citroen C1 with the 1.4 litre HDi engine achieved 84.32mpg in the independent 2008 ALD Automotive/Total Excellium MPG Marathon, a fuel ecomomy test of over 400 miles over a demanding route including variety of road conditions.

In the same test, the Citroën Nemo 1.4 HDi achieved  84.09mpg the best for any van in the test.
